So I’m officially halfway through my pregnancy.
This was me halfway through my pregnancy with Little S:
And this is halfway through with Baby B:
Differences between these 2 pregnancies?
Weight Gain: With Little S, by this point I had gained probably around 15-20 pounds. You could totally see it in my fat face. With Baby B, so far I’ve gained…ONE POUND. But that’s only because I lost around 4 pounds from being so sick, and now I’ve finally gained 5 pounds back. Before I get all braggy-braggy about the fact that I haven’t gained much, it’s only fair to say that I had a few extra pounds on me before getting pregnant. Also, I give it a month before I’m like, up 10,000 pounds, like the pregnant fatty we all know and love.
Exercise: At this point in my pregnancy with Little S, the extent of my exercise was walking to and from the car to drive to McDonalds. And opening my mouth to chew copious amounts of food. But this time I’m running between 2-4 miles a day, 5-6 days a week. My total milage a week is usually around 20/25 miles a week. And yes, that is me throwing in random facts about my runs to brag. Shameless bragging. Because I’m 20 weeks pregnant. And I’m allowed to brag about the fact that I run.
It’s not like running like that comes easily to me. I have to convince myself to run.
My pregnant self will be like “Why would you want to go out there and run 3 and half miles when you could just stay in here and watch 13 episodes of Desperate Housewives and eat Fritos?!”
And I’m like, “Good point, preggo Mel. That sounds awesome!”
Then my healthy self will be all like, “Do you seriously want to gain 70 pounds again? It’s just 3 miles.”
And I’m like, “But…the Fritos…”
And my healthy self sighs a disgusted sigh.
Then enjoys 3 bags of Fritos.
Wait, did I just describe my subconscious as if I have schizophrenia?
Food: With Little S, I craved a lot of chocolate. A LOT of chocolate. And Fruity Pebbles. And
truffles. This time, I’m trying a little harder to eat healthy. I went to the grocery store and bought celery, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers….
and hiding underneath that was Fritos, Oatmeal Creme Pies, and ready to bake chocolate chip cookie dough (That’s right. I didn’t even try for homemade.). Don’t judge me.
Oh, and one major difference is, this is my husband then:
So sweet. And normal.
And this is now:
Also, immediately after I took this video he got a video of me burping. Only difference is, I deleted that video. And now this beautiful video is gracing your homes all over. You’re welcome.
